In 2022, me and my team headed to a Crypto networking event in Riga, Latvia. It was fun and lots of interesting people rocked up, that evening everyone had their wallets and crypto exchange accounts compromised and drained.
Turns out, a malicious black hat group had setup fake WIFI overlay hotspot at the venue, which many people including my team connected to. It was an entry point for the malicious group to then drain everyone’s wallets. Apparently, Millions of dollars was stolen.
